It has been a whirlwind of a week, so I have a few Easter crafts here, to finish them up in one post! The kids have been very busy, and are getting very excited for all the easter fun!
First we made easter egg gardens. I drew out a bunch of eggs on the back of some finger paint paper. We also used white wax crayons, glue, paint and a piece of green paper.
First the kids coloured with the white wax crayon on the front of the paper (the eggs were drawn on the back). Then they started painting over the crayon. I put the eggs on the back so the kids wouldn't see what they were doing, they just scribbled with the white crayon. And, they painted the whole page- on the front, so the eggs would have different colours!
After those dried, we cut out the eggs, and were surprised at all the different colours on each egg. After they were cut out, we glued them to the paper, and added some Easter stickers.
We also made handprint bunnies. We used finger paint, markers, and finger paint paper for this.
The kids painted one hand first.
After they dried, we drew the bunny around the hand print, added an Easter basket and then coloured some eggs, chocolate etc on the paper.
(The fingers are the ears, the palm is the face, and the thumb is the tail)
And today, we made toilet paper roll bunnies. We used toilet paper rolls, pink napkins (you can use any napkin), paint (you can use what ever colour, we used pink to match the napkins), glue and green paper, cut in a length of about 1.5 inches- including the "grass" cut at the top.
First we painted the toilet paper roll- to about 3/4 of the way up.
And then added the "grass" to the part that was not painted.
Then, with the napkins, we pushed them into the top of the toilet paper roll to make the ears.
We also glued on googly eyes, and when they are dry, we will use a marker to draw on the nose, mouth, and whiskers!

Heart collage
Today, we took our craft from an inspiration on pinterest. (yeah, I love that site). We made stamped heart collages. It was very simple, took little time to get ready, and the kids loved it!
First, I took 2 toilet paper rolls and cut them in half. (make sure you know which was the "good" end and which you cut- because if you didn't cut straight they won't stamp properly). Then I squished them down- so they were flat. Then took the one edge and folded it in, and put some tape around it so it would stay like that. I did that for all 4. Then put some paint on some lids so we could stamp.
Then, we went to it! The kids shared the colours, and stamped all over their pages. Sometimes the paint was like a bubble in a wand, so when they stamped it was filled in on the paper! They also thought it was pretty neat to pop that paint bubble first!

Days 22-24 of 25 Christmas Crafts
So, I was not feeling well, and did not get the other crafts posted last week. So, I am putting them all in one post!
Craft 22 was making foam picture ornaments. I sort of cheated on this one, I bought the package from Oriental Trading. Then printed out some pictures of the kids and had them make the ornaments. I can't show too many pictures of these because they are being used as gifts. But here is a picture of the ornaments.
The kids strung the string through the toilet paper roll, and then we tied it, so we can hang it from the tree. Then we covered the toilet paper roll with peanut butter.
Once it was all coated, we laid it down on the plate full of bird seed. The kids rolled it, and put the bird seed on it, until it was covered!

Craft 23 was making placemats for Santa's cookies. This can be a quick and easy activity or could involve more work. Since I wasn't feeling well, we did the really easy route, we coloured them. I basically just drew 2 circles on a piece of paper, one smaller than the other. In the bigger circle I wrote "Cookies for Santa" and the smaller was "Milk for Santa". I also drew one big carrot on one of the placemats and wrote "Carrot for Rudolph" and on the other placemat I did 8 small carrots and wrote "Carrots for the reindeer". (I had one placemat for each child!). Then, I let them colour!
Once they were done colouring we covered the paper with packing tape, so we can lay out the cookies, milk and carrots right on top!
Craft 24 is bird feeders. We thought that it would be nice to make a present for the neighbourhood birds.
First I collected everything we needed, an empty toilet paper roll (with all the bits peeled off), a bowl of peanut butter and spoon, a plate filled with bird seed, and string. I also used the hole punch to punch holes in the toilet paper roll.
Once it was all coated, we laid it down on the plate full of bird seed. The kids rolled it, and put the bird seed on it, until it was covered!
Then, you can hang it in the tree!
